Help Me Be The Miracle

"There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why...
I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?"

-Robert Kennedy

Not my words, but I think they are great ones to live by.

If you don't already know me, my name is Jeremy Litchfield.

I have two loves in life, running and helping others. For 2007, I set a goal to run two marathons and registered for Cincinnati and Chicago. In planning for the two races, I calculated I would run approximately 1,100 miles training. I began to think these 1,100 miles could serve a larger purpose than preparing me for my races and decided to use them to raise money to help someone very close to me.

Meet Kennedy Snyder

Kennedy is a very social 6 1/2 year girl who is full of love, life and energy. Kennedy was diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer (Astrocytoma) when she was 2 years old, and has been battling the disease ever since. Despite the ever-present tumor on her spine, her spirits are high and her hope is unwavering. If it weren't for the braces on her legs and limp hand, no one would ever imagine that she has been battling cancer for over half her life. Despite the positive attitudes and brave faces, Kennedy and her family need a miracle.

The miracle could lie with The Cord Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for pediatric spinal cord gliomas by promoting medical research and increasing public awareness. In pursuit of this miracle, I am trying to raise a minimum of $1,100 ($1 for every mile I train) leading up to the Chicago Marathon on October 7, 2007.

Please help me in my journey and make a contribution to the cause - $5, $10, $20 or more - every dollar brings us closer to the miracle. Click on the ChipIn link below to make a donation.
